Student body of all grades is approximately 200 students
Description (Service) Operates an on-reserve school for elementary and junior high school students from the community 

Offers a full curriculum for students from SK-Grade 10  
Teaches Native language as a subject course and promotes a sense of pride of heritage  
Provides supervised extra-curricular activities  
Offers cultural activities and traditional Native teaching as part of regular programs 
Participates in the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) Canada Program which provides laptops and tablets to each child aged 6-12 years in the school as a learning tool 
Operates on a culturally sensitive schedule that allows students to participate in the spring and fall hunts with their families

 
Special Education 

Provides special education assistance for students with learning difficulties 
Strives for maximum amount of integration with regular programs

Hours Mon-Fri 8:30 am-12 noon, 1 pm-4 pm

PASS Program Pathways to Achieve Student Success (PASS) is an exciting new education initiative involving eight Matawa First Nation schools. With funding provided through Aboriginal Affairs Canada’s First Nation Student Success Program (FNSSP) has three primary target areas:

Learning Centre The Matawa Learning Centre is a private First Nations High School serving the students of the five remote Matawa communities of Neskantaga, Webequie, Marten Falls, Nibinamik and Eabametoong. We provide assistance to students with:
